This can include binary trans individuals, nonbinary individuals, and those who are gender non-conforming and trans. Transphobia arises from a refusal to accept trans individuals and their identity as real and valid. It can take various forms and can be directed towards trans people, nonbinary individuals, and/or gender non-conforming individuals, leading to both direct and indirect discrimination.
